#87 | How can fundraising professionals build bridges between the generations?

I had the pleasure of meeting Chad last year when I was invited by a mutual friend to the West Suburban Philanthropic Network. Chad is the Vice President of Development at DuPage Pads, a social services organization located in Wheaton.. DuPage Pads recognizes that the solution for ending homelessness is more complex than providing individuals with food and shelter. Founded in 1985, DuPage Pads is the largest provider of interim and permanent housing, coupled with support services in order to help individuals work toward becoming self-sufficient.

Chad and his colleagues have invited me back be a part of the annual nonprofit breakfast hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce which serves all of the greater Western Suburbs of Chicago. Chad is the Chair of the Advisory Committee of the Chamber’s Nonprofit Network. This network represents a very diverse group of individuals from all corners of the nonprofit sector.

Much like myself, Chad recognizes himself as a bridge between larger age cohorts; and we discussed a number of ways we can all break down the barriers that exist between the generations in the workplace today..
