#146 | How has Covid-19 affected fundraising for front-line organizations? Part 1: AFP Toronto Collaboration
This is the first of seven podcast conversations with members of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Toronto Chapter. The AFP Greater Toronto Chapter is a recognized leader in promoting philanthropy and providing education, training and best practices for those in the fundraising profession. With more than 1200 members, the Greater Toronto Chapter is the largest of the more than 240 AFP chapters throughout the world. It was a pleasure to spend an hour with members Teresa Vasilopoulos, Meghan Nicholls, CFRE, Sharon Avery, and Aaron Sanderson to hear their very thoughtful insights about what it means to be a fundraising professional in these challenging times.
What occurred to me while listening to each of these front-line leaders was the realization of just how complex the needs are of those their organizations serve and, in addressing these needs, how interconnected their organizations are with the communities that they serve. This has resulted in a heightened appreciation for collaboration and an awareness of how generous Canadians are when given an opportunity to respond in meaningful ways. It was also intriguing to hear how this experience has shaped who they are and how they anticipate it will change their work for the better in the future.
This special series will air over the next couple of weeks alongside our regularly scheduled broadcasts. As always, we are very grateful to OneCause for being our sponsor.
