#201 | Why are some fundraisers so bad at scheduling meetings with their donors?

Kevin Fitzpatrick is of the opinion that some fundraising professionals really suck at scheduling visits with their donors and that it is this inability to get in front of and engage with their donors in a meaningful way that impedes their performance. Arguably, this weakness that Kevin is zeroing in on is a byproduct of our sector’s addiction to cheap, shallow, arms-length fundraising and the tendency of fundraisers to get their professional identities wrapped up in these methods very early in their career.

What I believe is most exciting about someone like Kevin is that he has learned early in his career that the conversation is the work and that anything that convinces us otherwise is just a distraction. Kevin is so serious about donor engagement that he’s launched the One Visit Away Podcast for the sole purpose of encouraging fundraisers to get in front of their donors. Each episode is an opportunity for his guests to share the good, the bad, and the ugly donor engagement.

As always, we are very grateful to our friends at CueBack for sponsoring The Fundraising Talent Podcast.
