#200 | Is now a good time for nonprofits to hire (or fire) a fundraising professional?

Given the uncertainty that is looming all around us, some non-profit employers are likely asking themselves whether now is a good time to hire (or fire) a fundraising professional. Among those I would trust to answer this question is Linda McNay, owner of OurFundraisingSearch, based in Atlanta. I have enjoyed getting to know Linda since her involvement as a member of the launch team for my first book. Linda is of the opinion that organizations should never let go of good a fundraiser; and, in instances where performance is lacking, they should do everything in their power to help their employee turn things around.

Today’s conversation covered the gamut of concerns that anyone thinking about making a change might want to consider. The pandemic seems to have created a different type of context for evaluating fundraising performance and whether fundraisers have the determination to press through uncharted territory. Similarly, these fundraisers have a new lens through which to ask how ready their organizations are for navigating unpredictable events, especially those that necessitate a change in how fundraising efforts are carried out.

As always, we are very grateful to our friends at CueBack for sponsoring The Fundraising Talent Podcast.
