This afternoon at AFP ICON 2019 in San Antonio, Lori Jacobwith and Gail Perry presented to a room full of fundraisers who wanted to know exactly how to stop their board members from running away when they hear the word “fundraising.” I was grateful for the opportunity to connect with Lori who shared with me some of the brilliant yet simple tools that they use to activate the energy and enthusiasm of board members.
As a big fan of simple frameworks that empower fundraising professionals to be recognized and admired for their work, I especially appreciated the six-word stories and the “wouldn’t it be wonderful if…” exercise. As we wrapped up, my conversation with Lori afforded me one of those ah-ha moments that often happen when we’re talking with someone who is as passionate about something as we are. Check it out!
