223 | How can nonprofits effectively reframe their fundraising opportunities?
My conversation today with Mark raised two important, closely-related questions; first, how well are nonprofits navigating this season of transition, and, in the midst of change, how in sync are our organizations with the emerging modern donor? Mark‘s work at the Children’s Defense Fund, World Vision, and several places in between affords him valuable perspective for answering these questions and I’ve always been impressed with his keen sense of what highly effective fundraising looks like. To sum it up, my conversation with Mark really had me wondering whether today’s nonprofits can effectively reframe their opportunities?
After sharing with us what it’s been like to live just blocks from the US Capitol in recent weeks, I was grateful that Mark was willing to unpack how the Children’s Defense Fund has navigated the last twelve months and what he has observed about the new generation of donors that is emerging from their new acquisition efforts. Some of what Mark is seeing is certainly enlightening and, in some ways, contrary to the stereotypes that we’ve historically relied upon. I suspect this evolution of who the modern donor happens to be and what they are most inclined to respond to will be of great interest to our listeners.
