#172 | Will Zoom ultimately enhance or impede our productivity as fundraisers?
Ron Mackey has served The Baptist Home for 18 years, first as a trustee and now as an employee leading a regionally based staff who are tasked with raising financial support for the organization. The Baptist Home has been serving its community for more than one hundred years. Since it’s inception, The Home has provided housing in addition to social and spiritual care to its residents regardless of their ability to pay. The Home operates four residential campuses in the state of Missouri.
Ron and I agreed to compare notes on whether Zoom and other platforms will continue to enhance our productivity as fundraisers. Ron noted that a zoom conversation in advance of an in-person meeting eliminates much of the awkwardness of meeting a donor for the first time in a crowded restaurant; it also affords the fundraiser an additional tool for shepherding relationships beyond the gift. I also appreciated how a person’s comfort with such platforms has become a part of Ron’s interview process when considering new candidates.
As mentioned during the outset, Responsive's recovery plan is now available for download here (https://lnkd.in/dyhvmPv). We are very grateful to all those who contributed to this free resource. As always, we are very grateful to OneCause for being our sponsor.
