#173 | How do WOC show up authentically in their fundraising roles?
We all like to think that we are showing up authentically and being true to who we are; however, if we’re honest, that’s easier for some more than others. For Lisa Baxter, the journey to authenticity began with a personal journey that later influenced her professional work. As a WOC, navigating largely uncharted territory, Lisa’s journey now allows her to show up in ways she could not have only a few years ago.
Lisa Baxter is the Director of Major Gifts for MLK Community Health Foundation and is responsible for the strategic direction and management of fundraising initiatives essential to developing, expanding, and stewarding major philanthropic support for the hospital. MLK Community Hospital is an award-winning safety-net hospital serving one of the most medically under-served areas in the nation. In addition to her role at the hospital, Lisa serves on the Board for the AFP of Greater Los Angeles and is the Chair of the chapter’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Committee.
