213 | How can fundraisers take their acknowledgement efforts to a whole new level?

Now is a great time, especially after the year that we have all experienced, to ratchet up how we express our gratitude for the gifts that our organizations receive. Unfortunately, I have found that saying thank you in a timely and appropriate way is consistently a missed opportunity for so many. This was the topic of my conversation today with Jeffrey Foster who shared some ideas about how to get this critical step of the process right.

As we wrap up 2020, I want to encourage nonprofit leaders and fundraisers to think carefully about how you might take your acknowledgement efforts to a whole new level in 2021. Perhaps, instead of just mailing generic receipt letters that are merely spit out of a machine each week, you might think about coordinating an effort that engages your staff and board in making meaningful thank you calls. Imagine the opportunities that might reveal themselves as a result of a very intentional effort to say thank you in a more meaningful way.

As always, we are grateful for the support of our sponsors; our thanks goes out to our current partner, CueBack, as well as to OneCause who partnered with us earlier this year. We are also very grateful to all our guests for being a part of our 2020 line-up!
