#167 | When are fundraising professionals going to get back on the road?
It was great to have Amanda back on the podcast this week. Amanda describes herself as an energized, tenacious, creative, and organized professional who has a passion for fundraising, collaboration, and team building. Amanda is currently a Director of Development at Tennessee Tech University, and author of the Fab Fundraising blog. Most recently Amanda has used her blog as a platform for facilitating meaningful conversations about racism and allyship in the fundraising space.
In today's conversation, Amanda and I started off in much the same place that a lot of our conversations in the field are. We asked, “When are fundraisers going to get back on the road?”. As our jobs have quickly evolved in the last several months, we went back and forth about topics such as whether we think our donors are ready for us to travel, whether our bosses are willing to change our performance metrics, and whether we’re comfortable making a fifty-thousand dollar ask on zoom.
Just as a reminder, we have our four frameworks training beginning this Tuesday, July 7th. Our four frameworks offer a holistic and human-centered perspective of fundraising rather than the reductionist approach that we’re all accustomed to. As always, we are grateful to the team at OneCause for sponsoring The Fundraising Talent Podcast.
